Attic Insulation
Attic insulation is one of the most cost-effective energy efficiency and home comfort undertaking you can do for your home.
Literally, the biggest continuous gapping hole, in your house envelope is your uninsulated or insufficiently insulated attic space. The space between your ceiling and your roof is your attic and the attic is considered outside of your home’s heated space. The ceiling is what makes up the top of your house envelope with respect to the heated space – not the roof.
A home whose attic is insulated to code, i.e R-60, will keep your home cool in the summertime and warm in the wintertime. With a well insulated attic, you will conserve your energy in maintaining those optimal comfort conditions. Energy consumption and GHG out put are directly proportional.
The less energy you consume, the less green house gases you put out in the process of running your home. And this is our nation’s climate goal – to lower our greenhouse gas out put and reach net-zero by 2050 or sooner, rather than later while remaining a prosperous nation.
What does it mean for Canada to be net-zero? To be net-zero as a nation is to get to a point where our greenhouse gas out put as a nation is equal to the GHG eliminated through green initiatives else where on the planet by Canadians; for we do not live on this planet in isolation; earth is our shared home with others elsewhere.
This is why we, at Net-Zero-Attic, we are not waiting to be told what the initiatives are, or will be, that eliminate the remainder of our customers’ greenhouse gas out put. For every 2 homes we insulate, we donate an eco-stove on your behalf to a woman-headed household in Uganda at no additional cost to you. More on this in our corporate social responsibility section.
